Energy Fair
Students will have an opportunity to participate in the Lake Land College Energy Fair in March 2011.
The goal is to encourage our middle and high school students to think outside the box — be true entrepreneurial thinkers in the area of alternative and renewable energy sources and practices for our future.
The Energy Fair will be broad in scope. Acceptable categories for an Energy Fair project include those investigating alternative or renewable energy resources and energy conservation. Some possible topics include:
- Absorption and reflectivity of materials to heat water
- Energy conservation through redesigning a product to have fewer moving parts
- Reducing energy consumption in the home
- Strategies to reduce your energy footprint
This is a project for a single student or a group of students wanting to investigate energy issues that face everyone. Each district will have the opportunity to send the best project from their middle school and their high school to the Lake Land College Energy Fair competition on February 25th. Prizes will be awarded in each division (middle school and high school); and a prize will be given to the department of the first place winners in each division.
Registration deadline for the Energy Innovation Conference Energy Fair is December 17th.
